Authors receive a percentage of the purchase price anywhere from 10%-40% depending on how they choose to produce their audiobook.

Traditional publishers and traditional audio publishers take a larger percentage and often they own the audio files as well or take creative control away from the author, which is ridiculous.

However, authors can protect themselves and maximize their royalties and sales by working to either (1) self-produce, (2) work directly with a narrator (3) work with a company like mine that doesn’t retain any royalties, and connects authors directly with distribution and marketing options.
